About Us

About the North Hinckford Team
The North Hinckford Team encompasses fourteen parishes and fifteen churches stretching along the Essex/Suffolk border to the North and West of Sudbury and then South following the course of the River Stour towards Bures. All the parishes retain their rural identities although both local people and commuters are now living here.

These deeply rural parishes were previously grouped into three Benefice but in line with the Diocese of Chelmsford's commitment to Team Ministry and Ministry As Partnership, the Benefice have now become one large Team; although each parish does maintain its own PCC and very distinct identity. Theological tradition ranges from middle-of-the-road Anglican to Anglo-Catholic and worship styles embrace a broad spectrum of liturgy calling on everything from the Book of Common Prayer 1662 to Common Worship; from Iona to Taizé and beyond!

The parishes going to make up this new Team Ministry are Ovington, Belchamp St Paul, Belchamp Otten, Belchamp Walter and Bulmer, Foxearth, Pentlow, Liston & Borley, Middleton, Alphamstone, Gt Henny, Lamarsh, Twinstead, Wickham St Pauls.

These ancient monuments have been
maintained and
cared for over centuries by faithful members of the church
community. They
are beautiful and
even beloved representing the corner-
stone of life and
prayer in the communities.
